Ritual Altar Cloth, Ritual Altar Cloth, Viking Raven Block Printed.
Altar cloths are used for rituals, rune casting, and as a centerpiece for your altar. It also can be used as a wrap to protect your ritual tools, and rune sets. These particular alter cloths are made with wondrously soft, light grey to dark brown rabbit fur, and measures about 13" by 17." The color and size of the hide may vary to some degree, but I will do my best to match the photos samples of the listing.
Additional Note on my process: I believe a clean edged hide is more beautiful than one with rough and tattered edges, straight from my supplier. That being so, I trim and clean up the hide's outer edges, brushing out any lingering particles. leaving the hide more beautiful and clean. This usually takes about a half hour, and is well worth the extra work!
Natural Edges vs Trimmed and Clean!
You can also opt for a more raw, wild look for the ritual cloth! By leaving much of the jagged edge unaltered, I can offer the ritual cloth for a more affordable cost to the buyer, since I don't put the extra work into the process of crafting your ritual cloth.
Your sacred space will be even more beautiful with this hand crafted altar cloth!
About the Design.
The beautiful raven symbol is transferred to the altar cloth using a hand carved linoleum block. I found the Raven image on the silver penny of King Anlaf Guthfrithsson to be of great visual interest, and decided it would make a great design for my artwork. This style of raven symbol is currently very popular as a design on banners, or "war banners," as some like to call them, but back around the year 939 it graced the coinage of King Anlaf Gthfrithsson. It also makes a design on my ritual cloths that honors the past, our ancestors, and that most remarkable animal, the raven.
These ritual cloths ARE MADE TO ORDER, and take three to five days to process.
I use Eco-Friendly 100% Recycled Paper Apparel Mailers - 10" x 13" to ship your order.
All of our rabbits are ethically sourced. If there is ever a concern, you can rest easy knowing the rabbits are never ever raised for or harmed for their fur.
